The instinct when AI arrives is to panic and start over. Twenty-five years taught me the opposite: the patterns that keep enterprise systems from combusting — CQRS, facades, circuit breakers — don't die in the agentic era, they translate. An orchestrator-agent system is CQRS. Tool sandboxing is the facade pattern. A self-correcting agent is a circuit breaker. I write about governance and accountability rather than demos because two decades of watching capability outrun control taught me where systems actually break — and AI is that same lesson, at speed.
